Gabriele Musebrink in her video “Engaging with the invisible and the subtle” from the master class series “Steinzeichen” (stone signs). This work is characterized by areas made up of different materials. For that you will use lime putty, marble powder and gypsum bonding plaster as structural materials. A painterly gesture with bookbinding glue will give the surface a natural shine. In addition, you will use just one pigment, bound with lime casein, to give the picture a reduced yet effective chromaticity.

You will learn how to use skilful brushwork and the palm of your hand to combine the different areas into a balanced composition. The color application will be predominantly transparent. You will determine yourself how many layers will be necessary in your work. Keep in mind that the quality of such a work is determined by the quality of the structured surfaces. Observe what is happening throughout the work process. Reflect on what you have done and what has changed as a result.

Once again, Gabriele Musebrink describes her process in detail and presents it very comprehensibly, making this first stone signs course another highlight for all of her fans.

This course contains step-by-step instructions and photo documentation of the most important work steps as additional learning material.
